What is an exceptional business tool rarely duplicated in other communities soon to be made available to you? The Pierce County Economic Index (PCEI) report.
The PCEI report measures the economic well-being of
Pierce
County
and is constructed from more than 25 local, regional and national data sets chosen for their tested relevance, timely availability and consistency of reporting. The publication of the index report is a sought after Chamber publication and is widely used in economic analysis, forecasting and market assessment due to its accuracy and uniqueness. There have been 22 annual PCEI reports, all unveiled at an annual Horizons economic
forecast event. The Horizons economic forecast event and the Pierce County Economic Index have won two awards from Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) (formerly
ACCRA
) and the ACCE (American Chamber of Commerce Executives) Communications Award.
Authors of the PCEI, Drs. Bruce Mann and Douglas Goodman, professors of economics at the
University
of
Puget
Sound
will present the report (as they have since its inception) at the Horizons 2010 event on December 10th. The event will also feature keynote speaker, John W. Mitchell, M&H Economic Consultants, who will address economic expectations on a national and/or regional scale. Breakfast is served at the event that runs from 7 am to 10 am (depending
on whether attendees opt to attend free workshops under consideration for after the general program) and all who attend will receive a copy of the PCEI report.
