WorkWell - Healthy Workplace Designation Program

WorkWell - Healthy Workplace Designation Program

For more details and to apply.

The Pierce County WorkWell program is a countywide program designed to recognize employers who make a committment to promote healthy initiatives within your workplace.  Employers who actively promote changes to their work environment or culture can apply for the WorkWell Healthy Workplace Designation, if at least one of the following changes was undertaken in 2009:

1)      Organization Support

2)      Healthy Eating

3)      Physical Activity

Research shows that employers who have changed their work environment and culture to demonstrate support of employee health have gained:

  • Employees who are more productive, cope better with change, make better decisions, and deal with stress more effectively.
  • An image of good stewardship, by investing in the workforce while increasing morale and managing health-associated costs connected by doing business.

Three levels of recognition will be awarded:

  • Bronze Recognition
  • Silver Recognition
  • Gold Recognition

The deadline to turn applications in is by 5 p.m. on December 1, 2009.

Designees will be honored at the 4th Annual Healthy Breakfast Showcase, Tuesday, March 23, 2010.  The Healthy Breakfast Showcase is an annual event held in March.  If you are interested in participating in this event at a sponsorship level, donating prizes, or exhibiting, please contact Judy Singley at the Chamber.
